Today there was another shooting. Take a minute and let that sink in: Another Shooting. Why do we hate each other so much? Why is it so easy to hate and so hard to love and forgive? I wish I had some answers. I have none. I try to do my little kindnesses, hoping that they will spread little by little, like circles on a still pond. I keep trying. I can’t give up. Don’t you give up. We can’t let the darkness win.
The other night I sat down and listed songs for peace. I’d like to share them with you now, if I may.
Songs for Peace
Reach Out in the Darkness
Abraham, Martin & John
The Man in the Mirror
What the World Needs Now (is Love, Sweet Love)
What’s Going On? (Marvin Gaye)
From a Distance (Bette Midler)
Peace Train
Turn, Turn, Turn
Give me love (George Harrison)
Imagine
Blowin’ in the Wind
Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
While my Guitar Gently Weeps
Fortunate Son
Let There be Peace on Earth
We are in desperate need of peace: in our hearts, in our minds, our families, our neighborhoods, our towns, our countries and our world.
“But what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36-38) Huff Post
“Ultimately, we have just one moral duty: to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves, more and more peace and reflect it toward others.” Etty Hillesum
I wish you peace.
Cindy

Thank you, Debbie. Your comments give me hope. I guess by reaching out to one another we can give each other support. The smallest light can pierce the darkness.
