Let’s join together in celebrating International Women’s Day. Today is the day to celebrate the social, economic and cultural achievements of women. We are also called together to work for gender equality.

Now is a great opportunity to celebrate and work for the equality of all people, male and female. This year’s theme is “Choose to Challenge”. We can do this by recognizing the achievements of all women in all arenas.

One of my favorite causes, Kiva (kiva.org) is celebrating this day by doubling the contributions to women all over the world. With Kiva you can make a micro-loan of $25 or more to someone to give them a hand up. In recognition of International Women’s Day all loans to women will be doubled. 96% of all loans are repaid. You can choose to withdraw or relend the money.
