Last week we stopped by a neat little ice cream shop in the Pittsburgh PA area (Shadyside, to be exact). I spotted pamphlets for “One Day to Remember” (www.onedaytoremember.org) “One Day to Remember” is a non-profit organization formed to enable families with at least one adult suffering from a severe illness a chance to create meaningful memories together. Their goal is to provide One Day that is cost-free, worry-free, illness-free, and treatment-free for any and all families with a mom or dad sick.
“One Day to Remember” was established in 2016 when its founder, Rachel Antin, an oncology nurse, wanted to provide the children of a severely ill parent a chance to enjoy a day together as a family. Their goal is to give the family a “break” from the illness to enjoy a day together at no cost to them.
Sometimes the biggest gift you can give to someone is the gift of time, no matter how small it is. You can contact the organization at “One Day to Remember”, P.O. Box 81032, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, or Rachel@OneDaytoRemember.org. 412-573-9361.
Till the next time.
