Words of Wisdom from the ASPCA

We just received our annual statement from the ASPCA. It included some information I thought was worthwhile passing along.

It’s Spring cleaning time. Please be mindful that calls to the ASPCA Animal Control Center involving cleaning products have increased by 65%. With that in mind, use these tips to keep your pet safe.

First of all, follow label directions for use and dilution instructions.

Air out any areas with a strong odor before allowing your pet in the area,

Avoid mixing cleaning products, especially ammonia and bleach. That can have disastrous results.

Keep curious pets away when using cleaning products. (We have one of those, a curious pet. He is extremely nosy).

Use aerosols with caution around birds.

Let the product dry before allowing your pet back into the area. If a pet walks onto a wet surface and then goes to clean their paws, they could ingest the unsafe substance.

I use a cleaning solution called “Blessing in a Bottle”. I got the formula from Pinterest. It is:

12 oz white vinegar

12 oz Dawn Dish Soap (I use the blue kind)

1 tsp laundry detergent

I then put it in a spray bottle and go to town.

Thanks so much.
